Sharovipteryx was a bizarre reptile known from Triassic rocks in Kyrgyzstan. It had incredibly long legs that bore wing membranes that allowed Sharovipteryx to glide from branch to branch. Even though their arms were much shorter than their legs, detailed analysis proves that they acted as canards and were essential to stability while gliding.
