The aptly named “Bull Shield” had two prominent horn-like structures sprouting from its head. Unlike most armored jawless fishes, Tauraspis and its relatives’ head shields were formed as a single solid piece of bone, meaning it probably couldn’t grow bigger after reaching adulthood.
