Iguanodon was a common herbivore of the Early Cretaceous whose remains have been found in England, Belgium, Germany, Spain, and perhaps elsewhere in Europe. Iguanodon and its close kin are characterized by their spike-like claws on their thumbs. Iguanodon itself is characterized by its robust arms and especially large thumb spikes.
